SUMMARY:General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for our April General Meeting\nOur guest speaker for our April Meeting is Nate Epstein\, Candidate for OC Assessor.\n  \n“I am running for Orange County Assessor because the residents of Orange County deserve a fair and transparent Assessor’s Office. The role of the Assessor is to determine the value of all taxable property in the county for tax purposes. \nDuring my time in law school and now as an estate planning and trust litigation attorney\, for nearly the past seven years\, almost every document I worked on was impacted in some way or another by the Assessor’s office. Given my hands on experience with the Assessor’s office through transferring over 500 properties\, such an important position within our county government should be fair\, transparent\, and easily accessible to the citizens it serves. As such\, I will bring a new generation of leadership and vision to the office. \nMy goal as your Assessor is to ensure the hard-working residents of Orange County are not being taken advantage of by the current system. It is for this reason\, I have decided to run to bring a fresh perspective to the office that our residents so desperately need. SUMMARY:Gun Control Rally at Mimi Walters' Office
DESCRIPTION:ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!\nWe need to show Mimi Walters that her constituents are disgusted by her continuing acceptance of gun lobbyist money at the expense of our children’s safety.  According to Washington Post\, 150\,000 students attending at least 170 primary or secondary schools have experienced a shooting on their campus since Columbine.  Without legislative change\, this problem will not go away!  Instead of standing up for kids and families that are dealing with this\, Mimi is actively co-sponsoring legislation that will make it easier to undermine the stricter gun laws we’ve passed as Californians. \nShow up and help us send a clear message–her position is wrong and it has terrible consequences. \n  \nWHEN: FRIDAY\, FEBRUARY 16TH\, 4:30PM – 6:30PM\nWHERE: IN FRONT OF MIMI WALTERS’ OFFICE\, 3333 Michelson Drive\, Irvine\, CA 92612\n\nBring signs with the names of shooting victims & against gun violence.\nWe will have post-it notes so people can leave their notes on Mimi’s office door.\nWe will also have Valentine’s hearts that you can write a name on for Mimi.\nWe will have a list of victims names from various mass shootings that will be read out loud at the rally.
