He is an award-winning journalist who spent much of his career in sports as a reporter and\, later\, as the Register’s sports editor. Harmonson has been honored by the Associated Press Sports Editors and the Orange County Press Club for his column writing. Harmonson is the president and chairman of the board of the all-volunteer California Scholastic Press Association\, which conducts one of the longest-running high school journalism workshops in the country. He was inducted into Cal State Fullerton’s Communications Wall of Fame in 2017. He and his wife\, Michelle\, have three adult children. \n  \n      \n\n        \n                        \n        \n                        \n                        \n                        \n                    \n\n        \n        \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFEBRUARY COMMUNITY OUTREACH \nOur February community outreach partner is I Support the Girls. I Support the Girls (ISTG) collects new/gently used bras and new sealed menstrual hygiene products and distributes them to women and folks experiencing homelessness across the US in order to restore their dignity and self-respect. In the last 5 years\, ISTG has distributed over 11.2 million products to over 2\,200 social service organizations.  \nPlease bring donations to our meeting on Tuesday\, February 21st. We will have someone in front of The Murray Center to collect. \n Thanks for your support! \n
