DESCRIPTION:Come join us for the last meeting of the year!\nOur final monthly meeting of 2017 will include 2 speakers:\n\nBrett Murdock\, Candidate for Orange County District Attorney\n \nAccording to Brett’s Website:  \n“BRETT MURDOCK is a lifelong Orange County resident and twenty-year small business owner. He was elected to the Brea City Council in 2010 and served as Mayor in 2014. \nMurdock’s long history of community involvement includes serving as President of the Orange County Division of the League of California Cities\, Chair of the Orange County Council of Governments\, Chair of the Orange County Waste Management Commission\, and Chair of the Operations Committee of the Orange County Sanitation District. He is also an active member of the Brea Rotary Club\, and the President of a non-profit organization that provides and maintains low-income housing for seniors. \nMurdock holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of California\, San Diego. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Chapman University School of Law. Brett lives in the City of Brea\, with his wife\, Roni\, and their two children.” \n\n\n\nMary Navarro\, Candidate for OC Board of Education\nMary Navarro is a highly-qualified and experienced candidate for Orange County Board of Education\, District 5. \nMary is a third-generation California educator with more than 35 years of experience in the California public education system. Mary has an MBA from Pepperdine University\, a Master’s in Education and a degree in English and Communications. She has been a high school and college teacher\, site principal at all levels -elementary\, middle and high school\, and a principal of charter schools. He is also a member of the Aliso Niguel Democratic Club and their former Chair.        \n\n        \n                        \n        \n                        \n                        \n                        \n                    \n\n        \n                \n        \n    \n    \n        \n\n\n        \n        NOVEMBER COMMUNITY OUTREACH\nThis month our community partner is Toys for Tots. \nPlease bring one or more NEW and UNWRAPPED gifts or Gift Cards from Walmart or Target ($25) to our meeting. \nRequested items are gifts for “forgotten ages”: \n – Toddlers from 6 months – 3 years \n – Teenagers – ear pods\, games\, sports equipment\, skateboards\, craft or jewelry kits \nOur Community Outreach Liaison\, Ann Owens\, is also collecting new bicycles. If you would like to donate a bike\, please contact her at outreach@canyondems.org to arrange a time to drop it at her house in Lake Forest. \nThanks for your support of our community!
