Planned Parenthood and the Battle to Protect Reproductive Health
From the White House to the Supreme Court, reproductive health and basic rights are under attack like never before. The current administration and other anti-reproductive health ideologues are seizing every opportunity to roll back reproductive rights and limit health care services to those in need.
Planned Parenthood is one of the nation’s leading providers of high-quality, affordable health care, and the nation’s largest provider of sex education. Join us as we learn from Planned Parenthood leaders about their services and programs, the current political climate and ways we can support their mission.
About the presenters:
Andrea Schmidt, Community Organizer for Planned Parenthood of Orange & San Bernardino Counties (PPOSBC)
Andrea is involved in the Community Action Fund, which is the political and advocacy arm of PPOSBC. She works to educate the community about issues impacting reproductive health care and education through advocacy campaigns, direct and grassroots lobbying, community outreach, and volunteer engagement.
Amy Streavel, Director of Community Education and Outreach for Planned Parenthood of Orange & San Bernardino Counties
Amy has been active in the field of sexual and reproductive health education for almost twenty years. During her seven years with Planned Parenthood, she has had the opportunity to lead the expansion of sexual and reproductive health education throughout Orange and San Bernardino Counties, reaching about 70,000 youth, parents, and professionals each year.
