Committees

Get involved in one of our committees!

Our members are helping to strategize and organize the best ways to accomplish the club’s goals. We have several committees already set up and we are always looking for new and active members to contribute to them. If you’re interested in finding out more about a particular committee or want to try joining one, send us a message using the contact form at the bottom of the page. If you don’t see a committee below that you’re interested in—reach out to us using the contact form about creating a new committee!

FIELD COMMITTEE

The field committee coordinates our outreach to voters.  These activities include:  voter registration, canvassing door-to-door, texting and phone calls, writing postcards, and arranging “meet and greet” events. They also help develop printed materials to mobilize voter participation.   As elections near, they help at campaign headquarters. Get involved today with the committee that is on the front lines of mobilizing Democrats to get out the vote!

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

The fundraising committee coordinates events such as the summer picnic, ice cream social, holiday brunch, and debate parties. Help us solicit donations from individuals and organizations to support club efforts on behalf of local Democratic candidates!

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

The Communications team manages the club’s website and social media accounts. We also coordinate with other local Democratic clubs and organizations to get the Democratic message out to voters and media! If you’re interested in marketing, graphic design or social media, come get important work done with the Comms team!

 COMMUNITY FOCUS GROUPS

There are 5 Community Focus Groups: Laguna Hills, Lake Forest Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, and the Un-incorporated Areas. These groups focus on city councils, school boards, and water districts.  Members track local issues and regularly engage with city councils, school boards, and other locally elected officials. If you’re interested in promoting Democrats at the local level, or thinking about running for local office yourself, than this is the committee for you!

PROGRAM COMMITTEE

The Program Committee’s purpose is to insure that the programs for the regular club meetings are interesting and informative. This committee recruits the speaker for the very important Holiday Brunch. If you have ideas/contacts for new speakers or want to help greet them when they arrive, or send thankyou notes to our speakers the Program Committee needs you!

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

The Membership Committee’s purpose is to organize membership recruitment and renewal activities, keep a current roster, and organize members to volunteer at club events and other activities. The committee searches for new members through outreach programs to various groups and assures members renew their dues on time. People are needed for our Welcoming Committee, phone banking for renewals, and check in at monthly meetings.

CANDIDATE RECRUITMENT COMMITTEE

The Candidate Recruitment Committee identifies all of the local races in upcoming elections and searches for and screens potential candidates.  The committee also coordinates training for candidates and their supporters.  They also recommend donations levels for candidates to the Executive Board.  We need good folks for this committee to help find and support good folks for public office!

COMMUNITY OUTREACH COMMITTEE

The Community Outreach Committee is our link to the community we live in!  Democracy doesn’t end at the ballot box and the Community Outreach Committee is responsible for making sure our Democratic values are put into practice to make our neighborhoods better.  These efforts should not only provide meaningful aid to community organizations or non-profits, but also offer more opportunities for volunteer involvement with organizations such as foodbanks, homeless shelters, etc.
